Retreat
Do you feel overwhelmed with constant communication? Or feel like you spend too much time on your phone and computer? A Digital Detox is a period of time when you intentionally take a break from your digital devices such as smartphones and laptops. A Digital Detox at the Ayurveda Health Retreat means unplugging from stress, chaos, and the feeling of being “always on.” Digital devices are designed to be addictive, keeping us distracted and our minds busy. Amongst many researched benefits, unplugging from your devices can help you reconnect and refocus.
During your experience, you will reconnect with your own body's wisdom through restorative treatments, nourishing food, daily yoga, nature, and quality connections. Not only will this be an opportunity to plug in and recharge your own battery, it will give you practical tools to take home so you can be on your devices with intention and clarity.
Why A Digital Detox?
80% of us check our phones within 15 minutes of waking up. The average American spends about 7 hours each day on their phone. High screen time and frequent dopamine spikes aren't great for your brain and can cause:
Lack of focus and attention span
Lower productivity
Brain fog and procrastination
Poor sleep quality
Stress and burnout
Social anxiety and depression
Our comprehensive Digital Detox Retreat encompasses a wide range of activities and offers a holistic approach to well-being and connection. Immerse yourself in daily yoga sessions, where expert instructors guide you in deepening your practice and exploring the healing potential of movement. Discover the power of breathwork and meditation as you learn techniques to harmonize your energy and find inner peace. In our digital detox workshops, certified Digital Wellness Coach Melissa Baker will share wisdom on creating a life in harmony with our inner world and outer screens. Savor an array of cleansing and nutritious meals, lovingly prepared to align with Ayurvedic principles, nourishing your body from within. To enhance your culinary skills and deepen your connection with Ayurvedic cuisine, we also offer an enriching Ayurveda cooking class, where you'll learn to create delicious dishes that promote wellness. As an added bonus, we treat you to a nature excursion, honoring that we are part of nature - and in nature, we heal.
Join us on this transformative journey and embark on a path towards total well-being.
BENEFITS OF a digital detox:
Improved mental well-being: Constant digital stimulation can lead to feelings of anxiety, stress, and overwhelm. By taking a break from screens, we can give our brains a much-needed rest and reduce these negative emotions.
Increased productivity: Without the constant distractions of emails, notifications, and social media, we can focus more fully on the tasks at hand. This leads to increased productivity and a greater sense of accomplishment.
Better sleep quality: The blue light emitted by digital devices can interfere with our body’s natural sleep cycle, making it harder to fall asleep and stay asleep. By disconnecting from technology before bedtime, we can improve the quality of our sleep and feel more rested in the morning.
Gain clarity, direction, and inspiration in your life: Sometimes, getting out of the regular routine and fast-paced world is exactly what we need to reset and refocus on our goals and aspirations. Leave inspired and uplifted towards your ambitions.
Boosts mood, Better quality connections, better relationship to devices, promotes overall health and wellness, and many more…

testimonials
"Working with Melissa as my Digital Wellness Coach has been a game-changer for me, both personally and professionally. As a business owner, I often felt overwhelmed with all the different means of communication that we have these days. She helped me set clear boundaries with communication, especially e-mail, and helped me become more mindful about my social media use. I wholeheartedly recommend working with her if you want to improve your productivity, change your relationship with e-mail, or break free from the allure of social media.”
“I was looking for a yoga retreat as I've always wanted to go to one! I found this one and the reviews were so favorable that I grabbed a girlfriend and signed up for the Cleansing Retreat for 4 days. I didn't really know what to expect, but it was truly an uplifting experience! I do have my 200 hr yoga certification and needed a "reset" of life's many challenges. The whole experience was such a blessing in many ways. The staff was so helpful, and pleasant. The area surrounding was peaceful, relaxing and yet energetic with the energy of all the guests with the same mindset. The food was delicious and light. We met new people and new friends! We learned, played, relaxed and enjoyed each other's company. The accommodations were simple yet comfortable, especially the bed. We loved it so much that we hope to make it a yearly event. Thank you all for the wonderful experience and the motivation to continue a healthier lifestyle!”
“Melissa is one of the best yoga instructors I have taken classes within the past 20+ years. She brings in so much energy, insight, and creativity into what she does, over and above the usual postures and routine yoga poses. Melissa's classes are always interesting, new, and refreshing. Her focus on the breath and different techniques of breathing are so helpful. Often at the end of the class, during the final relaxation part, she even plays the flute which makes the experience in class all the more special. I highly recommend Melissa's yoga class whether you are a beginner or a seasoned practitioner.”
