A 7-Day Healing Retreat in Costa Rica
September 27th - October 4th 2025
Nestled in the lush landscape of Costa Rica’s jungles, Soma is an immersive 7-day retreat designed to awaken the wisdom of your body and restore the sacred connection between spirit and form. This journey is for those ready to heal what is stored in the soma—the body-mind—so that they may step into the fullness of their being: more whole, more embodied, more holy.

Soma means “of the body,” and in Vedic tradition, it also refers to the nourishing, healing, and restorative essence that flows from the moon. Soma is the most subtle form of matter — a refined, lunar nectar that nourishes both body and mind.
It is the essence behind Ojas — the vital energy responsible for our immunity, resilience, vitality, and overall wellbeing. Soma is believed to feed not just our physical cells and DNA, but also our mental clarity, emotional balance, and spiritual insight. It is both the medicine and the mystery — a bridge between the physical and the divine.
Through ancient practices, deep somatic healing, and nature’s profound medicine, we will unravel the imprints of past experiences and held emotions that may still live within the body. With the guidance of skilled facilitators, you will be supported in releasing what no longer serves, integrating what has been hidden, and reclaiming your body as a sacred vessel of presence, vitality, and power.
A key part of this retreat journey will be a focused exploration of the lower three chakras—
- Muladhara (Root Chakra): our foundation, sense of safety, survival, and connection to the Earth
- Svadhisthana (Sacral Chakra): home of emotion, sensuality, creativity, and intimacy
- Manipura (Solar Plexus Chakra): seat of personal power, will, self-worth, and agency
These three energetic centers are where much of our early life imprints are stored. By bringing attention, breath, and embodied practice to these core layers, we open the door to profound healing—restoring a sense of stability, creativity, confidence, and embodied truth.
You are invited into an immersive week of nervous system restoration, emotional release, sacred community, and reconnection with what is essential.

Airport TransfersThe closest international airport to Samasati is Juan Santamaria Airport (SJO) in San Jose. This international airport is a 4-6 hour drive from Samasati or 90 minutes of travel via domestic flight to Limon airport with a shuttle ride to Samasati.
4 – 6 hour scenic drive with local food along the way
If you are in a road trip / exploration mood you can drive, take a private taxi or a shuttle service. The middle part of the drive is quite scenic as you will go through the mountains in a national park and you will get to stop over at spots serving local food. This drive duration will vary on traffic and how long you stop.
The shuttle ride is about $52 per person and the private taxi is $200. If there are more than 6 of you, we would charter a private shuttle for you which would be more cost effective.
Please check https://www.caribeshuttle.com/ for the latest schedule for departures from San Jose Airport to Samasati ( enter Puerto Viejo as the destination to get the schedule). Caribe recommends that you land 90 – 120 mins before the departure of the shuttle as it could take time to go through customs and collect luggage. However, our guests have made it with an hour to spare if you want to take that chance.
Local plane ( https://www.flysansa.com/en )
If you would rather just land and get here as quickly as possible there are local flights available:
– SJO To Limon Airport- 35 minute flight – about $100
Caribe Shuttle (https://www.caribeshuttle.com/) from Limon to Samasati – 40 minute drive – about $22Overnight Stay before heading to Samasasti
If you land too late to make the shuttle or the flight, then you can stay overnight at our partner hotel https://www.adventure-inn.com/ – they will give you a discount if you mentioned Samasati Yoga & Wellness Retreat referred you.
