The Retreat

The Ayurveda Health Retreat (AHR) is one of the premier retreat centers in Florida that offer traditional Ayurvedic medicine and Panchakarma treatments. The AHR was established by Richard A. Masla, Ayurvedic Practitioner, in 2001 and is located in the small historic town of Alachua, in north central Florida. The Retreat initially had only one treatment room and an office space. From these humble beginnings, it now encompasses three buildings: a beautiful yoga studio, a retreat center and a yoga ashram. Annually we serve hundreds of guests who visit us from all over the world.

Ayurveda

Ayurveda is one of the oldest systems of medicine, dating back over 5,000 years to ancient India. It is the science of living in harmony with nature. In Sanskrit, ayur- means life and -veda means knowledge. Ayurveda utilizes various therapies including yoga, diet, massage and herbal preparations to bring balance and harmony to the body, mind and soul. It is a truly holistic approach to achieving and maintaining that balance.

We offer traditional Ayurvedic Panchakarma treatments including abhyanga massage, shirodhara and swedana (aromatherapy steam). We also have an Ayurvedic Weight Management jump-start program to help you begin your weight loss journey back to a healthy body.

Treatments

Come spend a day, a week or longer! We offer our services 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

In addition to our Panchakarma treatments, we offer a variety of other services including Ayurvedic health consultations, facials, astrological readings and a variety of massage styles. Find out more about our treatments, see a list of prices, or contact us for a personalized retreat.
